Wonho EP [CORE]
Wonho reveals a deeper layer of emotion.
This album goes a step further than simply emphasizing a strong image or performance. From the shell created to hide wounds, the protective shield erected to defend oneself, to the true heart that eventually reveals itself through the cracks. [CORE] follows this flow of emotions, calmly shedding light on what has long lingered inside Wonho.
This EP clearly demonstrates the direction Wonho is currently heading. Throughout his career, Wonho’s music and stage presence have possessed an instant captivating power. His performances were always dense, and his vocals and mood clearly had a distinct character of their own. However, [CORE] does not stop at merely repeating that familiar impression. This time, rather than pushing harder, he shifts his focus toward the emotions that linger behind that power. Consequently, this album leaves a longer afterimage than mere flashiness, and stays in the heart longer than just intense impact.
The overarching theme of this album is also clear.
